St. Mary's School Honors Dr. Mowl during the I-90 Classic
The “I-90 Classic” is an annual basketball event between
Rochester School for the Deaf and Buffalo’s St. Mary’s School for the Deaf.
“I-90”
refers to the New York State Thruway (Interstate I-90) which connects the two 4201 Schools
Association of New York State schools. The Classic features middle school co-ed
and varsity girls and boys basketball games.
During half-time of the middle school game, St. Mary’s
Athletic Director Jim Carmody, RSD Athletic Director Mary Cook and St. Mary’s Superintendent
Tim Kelly, honored RSD Superintendent Dr. Harold Mowl.
Mr. Kelly presented Dr.
Mowl with a beautiful plaque in the shape of New York State. The inscription
reads: “I-90 Classic” Recognition Award Presented to Dr. Harold Mowl For his
support of athletics and years of service and loyalty to Deaf Education. January 23, 2014.”
