Mix It Up Day at RSD 10/29/13
Tuesday, October 29, 2013, was Mix It Up Day at Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD). The day is part of a nationwide campaign to support students who want to identify, question and cross social boundaries that separate them from each other and help build inclusive, team-oriented learning environments.

At RSD, students from all school levels mixed up who they ate lunch with. Passport badges were given to each student which divided them up into team groups around their similar symbol. Older students led activities for younger students in the RSD gym. This year student teams were given colorful balloons. Students had to cooperate and work together through various activities with their balloons, and in such a way as not to allow any of their balloons to burst.

Our annual Mix-It-Up Day was another success! A special thank you to Middle School Science Teacher Ms. Bonaldi, and high school students Allison Higgins and Ryan Clark-Sulkey who planned the day for our school. The students enjoyed mixing it up at lunch and during the fun cooperative activities in the gym.
